04.04.08 - The Boats are Back in Town

The 29TH Annual Atlantic City International Power Boat Show Cruises Back to America's Favorite Playground for February 6 - 10.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Atlantic City International Power Boat Show cruises into the Atlantic City Convention Center February 6 - 10. The show features more than 750 new models of motor and express yachts, sport fisherman, cruisers and sport boats, as well as the latest in nautical electronics, gear and accessories. Additionally, the 95,000-square-foot "Marine Marketplace," featuring vendor demonstrations of the latest advances in marine services and accessories, will return as a "show within a show."

"Now in its 29th year, The Atlantic City International Power Boat Show continues to grow in size and attendance," said Show Manager Jon Pritko. "With so many exhibitors, boats and unique features, we are looking forward to providing a great experience for everyone at this year's Show."
Beyond the boats, the Show will host a number of fun and interactive features including:

MAXUM GET IN THE GAME PROMOTION - A Maxum 2200 SR3, equipped with Sirius Satellite Radio, and trailer, valued at $55,000, will be given away to one lucky winner from one of the seven participating shows, including Atlantic City, New York, Atlanta, Baltimore, Miami, Virginia and Tampa. The boat is "wrapped" in a football theme with pigskin seating, and a state-of-the-art Sirius Satellite system and will be awarded in April 2008. Contestants must enter-to-win at the Maxum exhibit at the show. In addition, professional football player, Omar Gaither, will be at the show on Thursday, February 7 from 5-8 p.m. to sign autographs and take photos with fans at the exhibit. As if the deal couldn't get any sweeter, there will also be daily onsite giveaways, including autographed jerseys, footballs, and Sirius radio systems.

MISS GEICO RACE BOAT - No race boat has ever earned a coveted spot in the American Power Boat Association's legendary Hall of Champions. But that may change when this record-setting offshore catamaran finally hits the dry docks. The 40-foot, twin 1,500 turbine-powered Miss GEICO took the offshore racing scene by storm in the spring of 2006 and proceeded to demolish record after record and awe those unfortunate enough to race against her. Powered with the same turbine engines that flew missions in the first Gulf War, "Miss GEICO" is a catamaran poised for performance and can reach upwards of 185 MPH.

THE IGX ADRENALINE JAM - Presented by Interactive Game Experience (IGX), The Adrenaline Jam Tour brings to the Show super-charged action from game publishers including PlayStation(R)2, Xbox 360(TM) and Nintendo Gamecube. Electronic gamers can play for FREE on up to 17 different game stations that provide a variety of interactive water sport challenges for Show visitors of all ages. IGX uses games rated "E" for everyone and "T" for teen as established by the Entertainment Software Rating Board.Advertisement
