Set for Go Fast Excitement for St. Cloud Fans
St. Cloud, FL – AMF Offshore is all set to kick up a cloud from their rip-roaring wake at the St. Cloud Spring Fling of powerboat races this weekend. And like the City of Biloxi – the last location to take on the “AMF Boys in Blue” – AMF Offshore’s Miss GEICO team is focused on rebuilding and being ready for the sport’s fastest competitors.
“We saw some technical difficulties in Biloxi,” said Driver Marc Granet, “But, we’re ready to assume our proper position at the top of the ranking in our class.” This enthusiastic commitment to win makes Saturday’s and Sunday’s races in St. Cloud a sure bet for exciting, fan-friendly fun.
That same commitment has served AMF Offshore well this season. From the unveiling of “Miss GEICO,” the insurance industry leader’s funky female lizard mascot, to the turbine power that makes her whiz by in a green flash of frenzy – AMF Offshore has started its season full of unparalleled innovation that focuses on fans. “We’re doing more than ever before to reach out and take care of our fans in our efforts to give them a show like they’ve never seen before,” said John Haggin, AMF Offshore Team Owner. “We are especially proud of our work in the community – reaching out to wonderful people in each city who may not be able to see the races and meet racers because they’re in the hospital.”
Visits to Chris Evert Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, FL during the SBI Season Opener and a recent visit to the VA Gulf Coast Hospital in Biloxi, MS have made a huge difference in the lives of the team’s fans. Those who did see AMF Offshore’s show last weekend from the shore of Biloxi’s rebuilt coast witnessed “Miss GEICO” reach speeds of more than 170 mph. “No matter how you cut – that’s something unbelievable to see,” Granet said.
St. Cloud marks the third contest of AMF’s 15-race season that will take these teams and many others from Florida’s East Coast, as far north as New York City and then back to Key West for a World Championship. AMF Offshore is positioned to continue its performance from this season’s first two races with the backing of insurance industry leader GEICO.
